How to Store Makeup Brushes Properly

1. Stand them upright

    

   Store brushes bristle-up in a cup, holder, or organizer to keep bristles from bending, flattening, or collecting dust.
    
2. Avoid overcrowding

    

   Don’t cram too many brushes into one container. Crowding causes misshapen bristles and tangled hairs.
    
3. Use a closed case for travel

    

   Put brushes in a zippered pouch or hard case when traveling to protect them from damage and dirt.
    
4. Keep them in a dry, clean area

    

   Store in a cool, dry spot away from humidity, direct sunlight, and bathroom steam to prevent mold and bacteria.
    
5. Lay flat to dry completely

    

   After washing, lay brushes horizontally to dry so water doesn’t run into the handle and loosen the glue.
    
6. Separate dirty and clean brushes

    

   Keep used brushes in a separate bag until washing to avoid transferring oil, makeup, and bacteria to clean ones.
    
7. Use drawer organizers if needed

    

   For larger collections, use divided drawer trays to keep brushes organized and dust-free.
